Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much is your hourly charge?
A: A lot of service companies DO charge by the hour.  We DON'T.  We offer flat-rate pricing on the vast majority of our jobs.

Q: Why don't you charge by the hour like other plumbing companies?
A: By using hourly pricing, each individual plumber ultimately has control over how much your job will cost.  A job that might take an experienced plumber only 1 hour may take a less-experienced plumber 2 or 3 hours.  Should YOU have to pay extra for his lack of experience?  We don't think so either!  That's why we use flat-rate pricing.
Q: What exactly is "flat-rate pricing" and how does it benefit me?
A: Each of our plumbers has a "Flat-Rate Pricing Book" in their arsenal of plumbing tools when they arrive at your home.  Let's say for instance you tell our friendly plumbing specialist that your kitchen sink drain is leaking.  He can go directly to the section in the Flat-Rate book concerning "Sinks," lookup "Drain Leak" and tell you EXACTLY how much it will cost you to fix the problem.  We have already figured the price based on the time it should take, plus the parts that it will take to make the repair.  The flat-rate price is the same for EVERY client by ANY of our plumbing specialists.  You make the decision then if you want to proceed with the repair or not.  It puts the control back in YOUR hands!
Q: What if I have several things that I need repaired?  Is there a discount for multiple repair services during the same service call?
A: Yes!  And now you'll see how Flat-Rate pricing benefits you even more, because the price for any additional repairs is discounted up to 50%!  So, let's say that in addition to that kitchen sink drain leak you ALSO have a toilet that's stopped up.  Our plumber goes back to his Flat-Rate Pricing book and turns to the section concerning "Toilets."  Under the "Toilets" heading, he'll find "Stop-ups" and he will have two pricing choices...Primary and Secondary.  Since this is the second repair that he will make, he will choose the less-expensive "Secondary" charge...and YOU save up to 50% off the regular price!  Need something else fixed while we're here?  Relax!  You'll get the "Secondary" price for all your additional services!

Q: Ok.  I'm ready to have one of your plumbing specialists come out.  What's the quickest way to contact you?
A: The quickest way to schedule your service call is to call our office at (225) 262-2322.  However we also have several other ways to schedule your call.  You can email us at sunshineplumbing@bellsouth.net or you can directly submit your online request HERE.  We can even schedule your service call by fax if you'd like!  Please make sure you provide your full name & address, at least one contact phone number, a brief description of your plumbing problem, and when you would like to schedule the service to (225) 262-2294.  We will contact you with a confirmation as soon as your appointment is scheduled.

Q: I've noticed that your trucks, your advertisements, even your website boasts a really cool, bright yellow, sunglass-wearing duck!  Who is he and what's he got to do with plumbing?
A: His name is "Nomar Quacks" and he's become something of a mascot around here.  He waddled through our doors a few years back looking for work because he was new in town.  He and Mrs. Quacks were expecting six little hatchlings any day and he was willing to help out in any way he could in exchange for some stale bread to feed his new family.  We weren't really sure about hiring a duck, but because he HAD been around water most of his life, we figured he may very well make a pretty good plumber and decided to give him a shot.  Turns out he took to it like...well...like a duck to water!  He's been working for us ever since...PERSONALLY checking each and every one of our plumbers' pants daily to make sure they fit correctly and making sure that SUNSHINE clients get the very best service at the very best prices!
